The Broken Kingdom – Episode Four: Arthur’s Folly is out now!

I am delighted to tell you that Episode Four: Arthur’s Folly, the latest instalment of The Broken Kingdom, is now available to download as an eBook from Amazon. I’m sorry it has taken so long to get to you, I was distracted by some other projects I had to complete first. But, it has been published now, and I’ve already stared work on Episode Five, the final one, which should be out in about a month. Say mid-June . . . ish.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about, let me explain. I am writing an Arthurian fantasy novel set in a post-Roman Britain with Arthur as a young cavalryman trying to find his feet in a land torn apart by almost constant warfare. To make matters worse, there is a large influx of Saxons in the east, refugees fleeing the rising waters in their homelands, and wiling to fight to find a place in this new island. On top of that, an evil sorceress has unleashed a dragon from the icy North, which seeks to devour all Mankind.

So far, this is a traditionally gripping Arthurian tale, plus dragons. What is different about my version is the method of delivery. I decided, since I had two other series on the go – The Fire Born books and a new Mongol trilogy, as well as some more Robin Hood books to write – that I would write this tale of King Arthur in short, cheap, episodes, publishing each episode between work on my other projects. I managed to get out three episodes either side of Christmas, which was a bit of a struggle, and then I got bogged down in other work, and so this one Episode Four: Arthur’s Folly took a little longer to get to you.

But you can now buy Episode Four: Arthur’s Folly as an eBook (only as that, I am afraid, for the moment) from Amazon. If this is all new to you, you should really start at the beginning with Episode One: Arthur’s Bane. Each episode is a very reasonable 99p (or equivalent abroad), and I will eventually be turning all five episodes in a paperback book, in due course. I will probably make an audio book out of it as well. But certainly not before the autumn. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this latest instalment of my King Arthur story.

My latest Fire Born novel, King of the North, is available as a paperback, eBook and audio, and Blood of the Bear (Fire Born 5) will be out in October, but you can preorder it here.
