England’s Medieval Festival: August Bank Holiday

If like me you are already thinking about the summer holidays, then here is a date for you diaries. I’ve taken a pitch at England’s Medieval Festival in Pippingford Park, near East Grinstead, East Sussex. It’s a riotous three-day event that takes place over the August Bank Holiday weekend (August 24-26).There will be re-enactors dressed up as knights, bone-bruising jousting, astonishing jugglers, skilled archery displays, falconry, beers tents, medieval food and crafts – all that good medieval fun. And me looking ridiculous dressed as Friar Tuck selling signed copies of my latest books from a little stall in the marquee!

I’ve been to this festival three times before (when it was held at Herstmonceaux) and I’ve always enjoyed myself, and since I am not doing a lot of public events this year, this is your chance to come along and say hello and buy some signed copied of my books. I will be selling some Robin Hoods, including two self-published ones, and four and possible five of my Fire Born Vikings series. And some of my other books, too, depending on what I have in stock. If you want to buy a particular book from me, send me a message. This is the festival website, if you want to know more about it, and you can buy tickets for just one day or for the whole three days. It makes a great family outing. I really hope you can make it.

In other news . . .

I know some of you have been waiting patiently for Episode Four of my Arthurian novel to drop. Sorry about the delay, I got side-tracked by a whole host of other things. But the good news is that I have written the fourth episode, and I am just getting my wife to proofread it before publication later this week (pub. date probably May 10). The idea for this episodic eBook novel was that I would write it around my other books, in the gaps in between, if you like. And having handed in Blood of the Bear (Fire Born 5) – see below – a few weeks ago I applied myself once more to Arthur. So the wait is nearly over, and I have Episode Five all planned out, too. The whole Arthur novel will be published in the summer some time. Probably July. If you don’t know The Broken Kingdom at all, start with Episode One – Arthur’s Bane.

Blood of the Bear (Fire Born 5) is available to preorder here. King of the North (Fire Born 4) is out now!
