Saxon & Viking Festival: Stonham Barns Park, September 7 & 8th

I must be a glutton for punishment but after a very enjoyable, if utterly exhausting, Bank Holiday weekend selling my books at England’s Medieval Festival, I am off on my travels again – this time to The Saxon & Viking Festival at Stonham Barns Park, near Ipswich in Suffolk. Come and buy a signed copy of one of my fabulous Fire Born books, an early Robin Hood novel, or a copy of my new King Arthur story.

The festival takes place over the weekend of the 7/8th September, at Stonham Barns Park, which, I gather is a popular Suffolk holiday park, a few miles north of Ipswich and east of Bury St Edmunds, and apparently thousands of hard-core re-enactors are descending on the place next weekend to feast and drink ale and indulge in boat-burning, Viking combat and colourful parades, and do demonstrations of Viking/Saxon cooking, blacksmithing, leather craft and so on. There will also be story telling, rune readings, and of course the chance to buy some very reasonably priced Viking novels by yours truly.

So get dressed in you best furs and mail, sling that sword and shield, and come and say hello. And if you bring copies of my books that you have bought previously, I’ll be happy to sign them for you. Skål!

King of the North (Fire Born 4) is available as paperback, eBook and audio. Blood of the Bear (Fire Born 5) will be published in the same formats on October 10. Pre-order your copies here. If you don’t know the Fire Born series at all, start with The Last Berserker (Fire Born 1) available here.
