The story is about two warriors from Scandinavia in the 8th century who travel south into Saxony (North Germany) to enrol in a special training school where they hope to become berserkers (Fire Born), the elite warriors of this brutal, warrior society. They are caught up in the war with Charlemagne’s invading Christian legions and must battle to protect the pagan culture of the Northlands from the mighty Franks.
