Grab an early copy of Blood of the Bear!
This box of books was delivered to my house today – 10 early copies of my latest action-packed Viking novel Blood of the Bear (Fire Born 5) hot off the press. Over the summer I’ve been going to festivals in southern England and “hand-selling” copies of my other Fire Born books, and I’ve been knocking them out, pretty consistently, for £10 each. So, if you are one of the customers I met recently, and you want to complete the set of five Fire Borns, I’m selling these ten copies and, of course, I will sign yours for you.

This offer is only for people who live in the UK – apologies to my overseas fans, the postage is just too expensive – and the price for a signed copy of this last volume in the Fire Born series will have to be £15 each. That’s a tenner for the book and a fiver for the P&P, plus all the hassle of driving to the Post Office.
If £15 is too steep for you – or you prefer eBooks or audio – you can pre-order the book from Amazon, click here for the site, but you won’t get it for another three weeks. (NB, it’s published on October 10.) I can be paid via PayPal but get in touch using the Contact form above and we’ll talk addresses etc.
If you want to know what Blood of the Bear is about, this is the blurb from the back of the book:
Battle calls the berserker once again…
AD 781. Pagan Saxony groans under the Christian yoke. The invincible armies of Karolus, King of the Franks, occupy all this freedom-loving land and every Saxon must submit to baptism and pay tithes to the Church, or face death by beheading.
Duke Widukind, leader of the Saxon rebels, is sheltering in the North, beyond Karolus’s reach. He hopes to persuade Bjarki Bloodhand – once a famous berserker, but now a father and family man – and his fierce sister the shield-maiden Tor, to join his revolt against tyranny.
But Bjarki has eloped with Widukind’s sister Edith, who was betrothed to Abbio the Crow. In revenge, Abbio uses seithr to strike at Bjarki – a powerful spell to drive him insane. Can Bjarki resist the long slide into madness? And will Widukind finally liberate Saxony from the Franks?
Perfect for fans of Bernard Cornwall, Simon Scarrow, Matthew Harrfy . . . and, um, Angus Donald
If you don’t know the series at all – and, if so, shame on you! – grab a copy of The Last Berserker (Fire Born 1) immediately. Go on, stop dilly-dallying, just click the link and buy it. You’ll see why!
