Berserker bargains and audiobook anticipation – a brief news round-up
Discounting works! Amazon slashed the price of the eBook version of The Last Berserker (Fire Born 1) in the whole of May to just 99p and it immediately shot up the charts. It was No.1 in a couple of categories for most of the month. So, when that eBook promotion ended last week, they decided to do something similar with the paperback version.
Unfortunately, I don’t know how long this will last – and neither does my publisher – but as of today (Wednesday, June 9), the paperback version of The Last Berserker is only £2 – less than the price of a coffee or a pint of beer. The price of the eBook has also been discounted again and is now only £1.99. I have no control over this pricing policy but I suspect that Amazon knows what it is doing. It’s not exactly unsuccessful in the flogging of books.
As I may have mentioned before, I have submitted the next book in the Fire Born series – The Saxon Wolf – to my publisher and I’m waiting for his verdict. That one is scheduled to come out this autumn (no exact date yet).
There is one other piece of news in this brief blog-ette: the audiobook version of The Last Berserker is coming very soon. Maybe by the end of June. But I don’t have a firm date yet. Watch this space.
