Outlaw Chronicles: the Robin Hood short stories
Have you read all the Outlaw Chronicles novels? All ten of them? (Ten so far – there are two more novels in the pipeline.) Really? OK then, but have you read my Robin Hood short stories? There are three of them, available only as eBooks, and they are quite short – just 10,000 words long, about one tenth of a full novel. They take place between the gaps of the other ten full-length books, and they are quite fun . . .
The Rise of Robin Hood
This story takes place before the beginning of Outlaw (so Alan Dale is not in this one). Robert Odo and Little John are novice outlaws in Sherwood Forest, and they come up with a brilliant plan for a robbery . . .
The Hostility of Hanno
This story takes place around the time of Holy Warrior, when Alan Dale is in hospital after having been wounded in battle. It is when we first meet the brutal German man-at-arms Hanno . . .
The Betrayal of Father Tuck
This story takes place at Kirkton Castle, while Robin Hood and his men are all away on the Third Crusade. Marie-Anne is required to hold the fort, quite literally . . .
The two self-published Outlaw Chronicles novels – Robin Hood and the Caliph’s Gold and Robin Hood and the Castle of Bones – will be joined by another one with the working title of Robin Hood and the Heretic Prince sometime next year. And there will be a twelfth novel in the series, as yet untitled, coming out a year after that. If you don’t know the series, you had best start with Outlaw (Outlaw Chronicles 1).
