Coming soon: Templar Traitor – The true story of the Englishman who fought for Genghis Khan

In a couple of weeks (August 28, 2025), I will be launching my new Mongol novel Templar Traitor into the world. I’m really excited about this book – the first in a planned trilogy to be published by Canelo – and I’m hoping you will be too.

I’ll be doing more publicity for the book nearer publication day but just as a taster, this is the blurb from the back of the book.

July 1241. Christendom cowers in terror before the threat of a Mongol invasion. The swift-moving cavalry of Genghis Khan have smashed the steel-wrapped knights of Russia, Poland and Hungary – and now Austria lies directly in their path.

At a skirmish outside the walls of Vienna, German knights capture a squad of Mongol scouts, and are astonished to discover one of their number is an Englishman – a Templar knight – who has been riding with these Devil’s horsemen for more than twenty years.

Interrogator Father Ivo of Narbonne is summoned to Vienna Castle to get the truth from the imprisoned Englishman before his impending trial. To find out why he abandoned his Faith, his Brethren and his homeland to become . . . a traitor to Christendom.

If you think this sounds interesting, do me a favour and pre-order a copy of Templar Traitor from Amazon using this link (or your favourite bookshop). I’ll be posting more stuff later this month.

If Templars and Mongols are not your thing, I have a new Robin Hood book out too. Robin Hood and the Heretic Prince is available from Amazon in eBook and paperback formats (not yet audio – sorry!)
