The Loki Sword (Fire Born 3) is a No.1 bestseller!
I know, I know, it’s just because Amazon have dropped the price of my third Viking adventure novel to 99p – I know that’s the real reason I am No.1 in the category of “Historical Norse and Icelandic Fiction” on Amazon (and No.2 in Viking Historical Romance). But I’ll take it! And I can say, in all truthfulness, that – today, at the bargain price of 99p – The Loki Sword is at the top of the bestseller charts. Long may it last – although I know, of course, that it won’t. Get your copy of “Loki” while the price is ridiculously low.
There is another aspect to this which pleases me – and it is connected to why Amazon and others have dropped the price. The Loki Sword is book 3 in my Fire Born Viking series, but King of the North (Fire Born 4), comes out next month and “Loki” being a bestseller in August should help with the sales of that.
If you don’t know what The Loki Sword is about, it’s a Tolkien-esque quest story set in Central Europe about a band of Vikings who go in search of a legendary sword, said to be once wielded by the god Loki. You don’t have to have read the others in the series to enjoy it. Warning: it concerns berserkers and is quite violent. King of the North, um, is also a bit fight-y, since it is about a great battle, somewhere on the edge of myth and history, between the kings of Denmark (Dane-Mark) and Sweden (Svealand, as it was then). Here’s the Wikipedia link if you want to know more about the “real” battle the book is based on.
King of the North will be published on 28 September, 2023.
You may have noticed a bit of “radio silence” from me over the past few weeks. I haven’t blogged for absolutely ages. I’ve been working hard on a new series of historical novels. And I hope to have some good news to deliver about it soon. At the moment it’s a bit hush-hush. Let’s just say it has Mongols in it!
If you are just starting my Fire Born series, the first one to read is The Last Berserker (Fire Born 1) – also a No.1 in its heyday a couple of years ago – which is still available from Amazon and other good retailers.
