Outlaw (Outlaw Chronicles 1) now just £1.99

The first book I ever wrote, from way back in 2009, is now on sale on Amazon for just £1.99 (for the eBook – the paperback is a more sensible £8.99). Outlaw is the first novel in my bestselling 10-book series about a gangster-ish Robin Hood and is easily the most “Robin Hoody”, taking place in Sherwood in 1188 and featuring all the usual characters, Little John, Father Tuck, Will Scarlet, plus the dastardly Sheriff of Nottinghamshire. I don’t care that it’s so cheap. I’m just pleased Outlaw is still being read!

Outlaw - Angus Donald

If you don’t know the series at all – and if not why not? – or Outlaw in particular, I have created a slightly different kind of Robin Hood. My guy is much more morally grey. He’s a criminal, and leader of a brutal criminal gang, and his isn’t always very nice. In fact, you might call Robin an anti-hero. The real hero is the musically-minded cut-purse Alan Dale, a teenage boy in this book, who gets into trouble with the law and has to join the notorious outlaws in the wild woods. This is the blurb from the back of the book . . .

“When he’s caught stealing, young Alan Dale is forced to leave his family and go to live with a notorious band of outlaws in Sherwood Forest.

Their leader is the infamous Robin Hood. A tough, bloodthirsty warrior, Robin is more feared than any man in the county. And he becomes a mentor for Alan; with his fellow outlaws, Robin teaches Alan how to fight – and how to win.

But Robin is a ruthless man – and although he is Alan’s protector, if Alan displeases him, he could also just as easily become his murderer….

From bloody battles to riotous feast days to marauding packs of wolves, Outlaw is a gripping, action-packed historical thriller that delves deep into the fascinating legend of Robin Hood.”

The Audio version of The Loki Sword from Amazon is still not available, although my publisher thinks it won’t be much longer. Apologies. In the meantime, you can listen to the story by getting it here.
